Dr. Jeffrey W. Fruin, DDS
Dr. Jeffrey W. Fruin earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California in 1986. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California.

After completing dental school, Dr. Fruin joined his father in practice, continuing a strong family tradition in dentistry. Working alongside his father helped shape his philosophy of conservative, patient-first care built on long-term relationships and trust.

Dr. Fruin believes integrity in dentistry means truly listening to patients, understanding their individual needs, and recommending only what is necessary for long-term oral health. He is committed to thoughtful, cost-effective treatment planning and ensuring every patient feels informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.

He especially enjoys caring for families and long-term patients, valuing the opportunity to serve multiple generations within the Carlsbad community.

Outside of the office, Dr. Fruin is an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoys golf and has been actively involved in local football and softball, including coaching.

Our History
Fruin Family Dental was originally founded in the late 1950s by Dr. John Fruin in Canoga Park, California. From the beginning, it was a true family practice, with his wife managing the practice while he provided clinical care.

After graduating from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Dr. Jeffrey W. Fruin joined his father in practice. Father and son worked alongside one another, continuing a tradition of honest, conservative dentistry built on long-term patient relationships.
​
The practice later relocated to Carlsbad, where it continues to serve the community today. The office moved to its current Carlsbad location in 2007. Dr. John Fruin continued seeing longtime patients on a part-time basis before stepping away from the practice to enjoy retirement.

Today, Dr. Jeffrey W. Fruin continues to lead and practice at Fruin Family Dental, maintaining the same commitment to patient-first, conservative dentistry rooted in integrity and trust.
